S’mores

August 8, 2014

Smorgyle fabric by Jenimp on Spoonflower

I’ll bet you didn’t know that August 10th is National S’mores Day.  (Really – look it up.  I’m not just making up excuses to eat roasted marshmallows, I swear.)

Sounds like the perfect time to break out my Smorgyle fabric, ideal for BBQ aprons, picnic napkins, pillowcases and more.

The topic also reminded me of a fun, easy invite I did a few years back for a camping-themed birthday party: I topped rectangles cut from an old topographic map with a printout of my s’more illustration for a quick, inexpensive invite that set the mood for the outdoorsy party.

Color scheming

November 25, 2012

With winter days getting shorter and all kinds of holidays approaching, I’ve been craving bright colors. Here’s an inspiration board I made featuring colorful holiday images and the brilliant Annual Report Christmas Card by j. bartyn from Minted. (Click on the board to see the full width.)

Happy Valentine’s Day

February 14, 2011

Robot ValentineScribbleprints created a Squidoo lens about creative uses for Zazzle’s business cards, including my “Scooter” robot Valentine.  Zazzle’s “chubby” business cards (3.5″ x 2.5″, instead of the standard 2″ x 3.5″) are great for gift tags, Valentines, baseball cards and more.  The only downside is that you have to buy them in packs of 100 of the same design.

This feature reminds me about my post last year on a client who uses business cards as mini-advertising handouts.

You might also recognize this robot from my Automated Cuteness fabric at Spoonflower.

Mother’s Day Cards

April 14, 2010

Mother's Day Cards

I’ve got 5 new mom-themed cards up for sale on Zazzle, just in time for Mother’s Day. (Tip: Use coupon code ZAZZLEMOMDAY at checkout to save 20% off cards through Monday, April 26, 2010.) Not your typical flowery Mother’s Day cards, these greetings feature tattoo art, bouncing eyeballs and moths. Check them out if you’re looking for something different and irreverent this Mother’s Day. The tattoo cards would also work well for new moms, mom’s birthday and more. And I think the runaway eyeball would make a great get well card or a quick hello to an adventurous (or injury-prone) friend.
